Terms & License Agreement

Last updated: 23 September 2026

These terms cover the Schizm toolkit: Clausage (a macOS menu-bar app) and Clauswitch (a Visual Studio Code extension), whether you use them free or buy a Schizm Pro license.

1. Who you are dealing with

The software is made and licensed by Jan Knoflíček, trading as Schizm, an individual established in the Czech Republic (IČO: 01598074). Contact: [email protected].

Purchases are sold through Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the Merchant of Record. Lemon Squeezy is the seller of record for the transaction and handles payment, invoicing and sales tax. Its own terms govern the checkout. This agreement governs the software, including the free apps.

2. What is free, and what stays free

Clausage is free for up to two Claude accounts, with live usage for both.

Clauswitch’s switching is free forever. That means switching between Claude accounts and binding them to windows and folders, at any number of accounts.

Seeing usage inside your editor is part of Schizm Pro (section 3).

3. What a Pro license gives you

A Schizm Pro license covers both apps with one purchase. It is a perpetual license: you buy it once, there is no subscription, and the version you have keeps working for as long as you keep it.

A license includes every update we release. There is no renewal fee and no update window. New versions are yours for as long as we ship them, and the version you have keeps working even if we ever stop (section 6).

4. How you may use the license

One license, one person, all of that person’s machines. Install it on your laptop, your desktop and your next Mac. There is no device limit, no machine registration and no seat counting.

A license is for one person. Do not share your license file or key with other people, do not post it publicly, and do not resell it. Your name and email address are inside the signed license file. A key that is posted publicly is one of the three things that end a license (section 5).

You may not modify, decompile or reverse-engineer the apps, except where law gives you that right regardless of what this agreement says (in the EU, it does, in specific circumstances).

5. What ends a license

Exactly three things end a license: a refund (see the Refund Policy), a chargeback, and a license key posted publicly. Nothing else does.

An ended license stops working at its next daily check (section 6). Nothing reaches into your machine, and losing network never ends a license. No list of licenses, revoked or otherwise, is ever published, and nothing about who bought what is either.

6. What the apps do online

Activating a license needs no account and no login. Once activated, the app confirms the license with our server about once a day when it has network. If it cannot, nothing happens for 45 days and the license keeps working as it is. Only two things pause Pro: an answer from our server that the license has ended, or 45 straight days without a single successful check. After a pause, Pro resumes by itself on the next successful check.

If Schizm ever shuts down, we will convert every active license to fully offline, permanently. “Active” excludes only licenses already ended under section 5. If yours works that day, it works forever.

The complete list of what the apps contact online:

  • Usage data is read from Anthropic’s servers using your own Claude Code token (section 7).
  • The license check contacts schizm.app about once a day, as described above. What it sends and what we keep is listed on the transparency page.
  • Clausage’s update checks contact updates.schizm.app daily. You can turn automated update checks off.
  • Anonymous telemetry is sent unless you turn it off. It is described in full in the Privacy Policy.

7. The usage numbers, and the risk that comes with them

The usage percentages are read from an endpoint Anthropic has not published, using the OAuth token that Claude Code already stores on your machine. Nothing is proxied through us. The token is sent only to Anthropic, where Claude Code already sends it, and never to us or to anyone else. No Claude requests are made on your behalf.

Two consequences you should decide about before buying:

  1. It can stop working. Anthropic never promised this endpoint and may change or remove it. What happens then is set out in the Cutoff Clause, which is part of these terms.
  2. Anthropic’s Consumer Terms restrict automated access to their services. Reading your own usage numbers is a small, occasional read of your own data. No model requests are made and nothing is run through your account. That is a different act from what Anthropic has acted against so far: third-party tools running model requests through subscription accounts. The apps keep the read to a minimum, and you can switch the usage feature off entirely and keep everything else. We cannot, however, promise that Anthropic will never object, or act against an account. We judge the risk to be low, but not zero. If that is not a risk you want, use the apps in local-cache-only mode, or use Clauswitch for switching alone.

You are responsible for your own compliance with Anthropic’s terms for your Claude account.

8. No warranty

The software is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that the usage numbers will be available, accurate or timely.

If you are a consumer in the EU, you have statutory rights regarding conformity of digital content that this section does not and cannot limit.

9. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the software or these terms is limited to the amount you actually paid for your license in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of use.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded, including, for consumers, liability under mandatory consumer-protection law.

10. Not affiliated with Anthropic

Clausage is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Anthropic. Claude and Claude Code are trademarks of Anthropic. The same applies to Clauswitch and to the Schizm toolkit as a whole.

11. Refunds

30 days, no questions asked. The full policy is at Refund Policy and is part of these terms.

12. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms for future purchases. A license you have already bought is governed by the terms in force when you bought it. The contract you paid for does not change afterwards. Where a change is required by law, or where it is purely in your favour, it applies immediately.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Czech Republic, and the courts of the Czech Republic have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident in the EU, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of your own country’s law, or of your right to bring proceedings there.
